Koskela was approached by Murdoch University to fit out their new student hub, Club Murdoch. The facility has two floors, a basement tailored for study, and a ground floor food court with outdoor dining. Our Design Director, Russel Koskela, worked extensively on the project.

Murdoch University saw the different projects we have completed at RMIT in Melbourne. They contacted us directly to see if we would work with them to upgrade the campus. The existing Geoffrey Bawa style buildings are beautiful architecturally, and they have an amazing Aboriginal art collection throughout.

Koskela worked collaboratively with the university to deliver a range of indoor and outdoor furniture products. Our contemporary-style pieces have a cosmopolitan feel, but the natural materials are sympathetic to the bush setting. The furniture is also durable enough to withstand student wear and tear, as well as Perth’s wild weather.

A modern warm touch I would call it. Flexible furniture that won’t date quickly and will withstand the test of time. There are some serious spaces, and some fun spaces, both indoors and out.

Club Murdoch has been widely embraced on campus, creating a sense of community and having a positive impact on student life.

I'm happy to say Murdoch University is getting better and better, they are building a great internal team, which is reflective of the new projects they are completing.
