Consultant, Home

At Koskela, we aim for our customers to be our biggest advocates – because they love:

  • our products for their great design,
  • our sustainability and impact commitments and
  • the relationship we build with them.

The role

This is a great opportunity if you have trained as an interior designer, are passionate about design, sustainability, Australia’s First Nation’s heritage and love sharing your knowledge and building customer relationships.

We recognise that it’s critical for customers to feel that they have furnished their home with pieces they feel connected to, work in the way their household functions and that contribute to making a customer’s house feel like their home. Achieving this also means less furniture and furnishings will end up in landfill when wrong decisions are made.

Reporting to the Leader of our Retail team, you'll have opportunities to design spaces, reach goals, build sales and build relationships as you:

  • Maximize sales and profitability, through creative selling strategies, outstanding customer service, product knowledge, and teamwork; exceed personal and group sales targets
  • Communicate an enthusiasm and passion for the philosophy and values of Koskela, our products, and our history
  • Develop product knowledge to promote a world-leading customer experience; become a Koskela expert through regular training and self-guided study
  • Work together with fellow employees to create a positive, team-oriented atmosphere and a warm, friendly retail environment
  • Ensure that visual and experiential standards are exceeded, including replenishment of stock
  • Support basic maintenance of the store, including assisting in floor and fixture changes; and
  • Help coordinate in-store events.

This could be a good role for you if you have:

  • Qualification/Experience in Interior Design or equivalent area and/or
  • Similar experience within a Furniture or design business;
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written;
  • Warm engaging personality;
  • Keen attention to detail; and
  • Ability to work Tuesday - Saturday
