Koskela wins a Lotus Award 2018

The Lotus Awards celebrate great organisations.

We are thrilled to announce that Koskela has won a Lotus Award for Culture! 

The Lotus Awards are a unique concept recognising great workplaces by celebrating what makes them unique.

2018 saw nearly 300 entries for Culture and Sustainability, and we are very proud to be amongst the winners for 2018.

The diversity and quality of the winners is the reason why we started the Lotus Awards, it’s great to see so many organisations constantly striving to improve, hopefully The Lotus Awards provides a platform to inspire other organisations.

The award recognises Koskela’s efforts to create a great culture while holding steadfast to our values. The business is firmly committed to being Australian made, crafted by hand, sustainable, and invested in social enterprise. We are a Certified B Corp with a mission to use business as a force for good! Of course, we still have lots of fun while doing so in our converted warehouse offices and store.

Our staff work very effectively as a team with everyone invited to contribute ideas across all areas of the business including design, marketing and production. If anyone needs a break from their screen there is often a dog to play with or a delicious homemade treat to enjoy. Baked goods definitely receive the highest praise in our Bop Box, where team members can anonymously compliment each other. These are tallied up at the end of the month and the person with the most 'bops' receives a $100 Koskela gift voucher.

Food really brings us all together with everyone bringing in a dish from their heritage during World Food Month in April. But we worked it off during Fit Fest, a month of health and wellbeing initiatives, in May. And of course we enjoyed celebrating our Lotus Award win during Family Day last weekend.
