Stirrup Setting — Timeless Design Meets Natural Durability
Inspired by Koskela co-founder Russel’s childhood growing up in the country with his beloved pony Jay Jay - a heartfelt homage to outdoor life and enduring craftsmanship.
The Stirrup Setting comprises of a 6 person dining table with two accompanying bench seats - Its distinctive base, formed by two steel stirrups, supports a generously sized tabletop with chamfered corners — adding a considered and elegant detail to this rugged design.
Crafted for both indoor and outdoor use, the Stirrup set is made from ultra-durable fused strand bamboo fibre — a 87% natural, high-performance material that’s specifically treated for resilience against Australia’s harsh climate. A patented heat process removes all organic nutrients, making it resistant to bacteria, fungi, mould, and insects. The rich cognac finish provides a warm, tactile surface that’s easy to maintain and won’t leach tannins or stain surrounding surfaces.
The powder-coated steel base is available in Saltbush Grey or Black, adding contemporary contrast while offering robust support. Designed with lasting quality and low environmental impact in mind, the Stirrup Table is a meaningful choice for outdoor dining, communal spaces, or workplace terraces.

Why make the switch to bamboo?
The ultra-durable fused strand bamboo is a more sustainable and highly renewable material, offering numerous environmental benefits. It’s remarkable growth rate means it can be harvested every 3-5 years, significantly faster than traditional timber. Plus bamboo forests absorb up to 12 tons of carbon dioxide per hectare annually, making them valuable carbon sinks.
Our transition to bamboo represents a conscious choice towards more sustainable materials in our furniture. With its exceptional durability and resilience, bamboo ensures that our Stirrup table stands strong against Australia's weather conditions, while reducing our environmental footprint.

87% - Bamboo
13% - Phenolic Glue
*Bamboo fibre and phenolic glue are subjected to heat to create bamboo suitable for outdoor applications. In this process, all the nutrients, including sugar and starch, are removed from the bamboo. It is then fused and compressed with phenolic glue. As a result, this material does not contain any nutrients, making it unattractive to bacteria, fungi, moulds or insects. The fibre remains resistant to rot when exposed to various environmental condition

Before purchasing a furniture product please make sure we can get it into your home! We provide the dimensions for all furniture products. Check these against the measurements for your doorways, stairway and/or elevator. We can only deliver above the ground floor if there is access to a lift, enough safe space access, or if the item weighs less than 75kg. Koskela can’t be held liable if your product can’t be delivered into your home.
