About this product
The Ngalawa Curved is an evolution of Koskela’s popular Quadrant Soft sofa.
The popularity of this sofa is due to its modular design. The Quadrant Soft comes in components – building blocks – that can be put together in countless configurations. Made from dense foam, it’s lightweight and can be reconfigured with ease, making it a perfect solution for spaces that require flexible soft seating.
This is a single component (1200mm radius) from the Ngalawa Curved range. It can be paired with the Double component as well as linear Quadrant Soft components to create flowing configurations and organic shapes with a 2400mm diameter.
The other single component (800mm radius) is also available if you have less space to play with.
The Ngalawa is upholstered in a heavy-duty commercial-grade fabric with added stain protection so it will maintain good condition over time. The covers can also be taken off for professional cleaning, and after several years can be replaced to keep the product looking like new.
Available in four colours that are inspired by the Australian landscape: Bamal (Earth), Burran (Stingybark), Daramu (Tree), Badu (Water). Each component comes in a tonal variation of that colour. So, if you order a Ngalawa setting, we recommend ordering in one colour, but it will comprise of four different tones. This is intended to mimic nature and is part of the biophilic design thinking that underpins the Learn by Koskela range. Studies have shown the adoption of biophilic design has a positive effect on student engagement and wellbeing.
Ngalawa translates to sit, and the word originates from the Dharug Aboriginal language in Sydney.
