About this product
Alice Outdoor Table & Chairs – Handcrafted Steel Furniture for Australian Backyards
The Alice Series is a distinctive outdoor furniture collection designed by Koskela and manufactured in collaboration with the Centre for Appropriate Technologies (CfAT) — an Aboriginal-owned and controlled social enterprise based in Alice Springs.
This partnership supports skills development and paid employment opportunities in remote Indigenous communities, with each piece made using practical, workshop-based steel fabrication methods.
Designed for Australian outdoor conditions, the Alice table and chairs are built from robust steel and finished for exterior use, making them well suited to backyards, courtyards, balconies and garden settings. The frames are intentionally weighted to provide stability, helping prevent furniture from shifting or tipping in strong winds.
A defining feature of the collection is its exposed welded joints, which reveal the hand-crafted construction process and highlight the work of the maker. Rather than hiding these details, the design celebrates them — giving each piece a subtle individuality and an honest, industrial character.
With clean lines and durable materials, the Alice Series offers a practical option for households seeking outdoor furniture that balances visual simplicity with long-term everyday use.
