String Table — A Sculptural Statement Table Inspired by Cultural Storytelling

The String Table is a strikingly sculptural meeting or dining table inspired by a moment of connection on Elcho Island, where Koskela co-founders Russel Koskela and Sasha Titchkosky observed local Yolŋu women performing intricate cat’s cradle string games — a traditional and highly skilled form of storytelling and play. The bent steel base of the String Table references the memory of these interwoven patterns, bringing both cultural meaning and visual lightness to the design.

Designed and manufactured in Australia, the String Table is ideal for boardrooms, collaborative workplaces, hospitality spaces, and education settings that value design with integrity, narrative, and flexibility.

The table is available in two standard sizes with a variety of top materials, including:
