About this product

This painting depicts Minyma Kutjara (two women), an important women’s creation story of the Irrunytju Community.

This is a painting of the sister travel from south Irrunytju. Moving from rockhole to rockhole.

Eva Baker was born in Amata Community on the APY Lands of South Australia and belongs to the Pitjantjatjara language and cultural group. Eva has strong connections to Minyma Kutjara tjukurpa (Two Sisters creation story) depicting many aspects of the sisters’ journey through her paintings. These stories were passed down to her by her aunt, Mrs Kunytjil Cooper, one of the original Irrunytju Artists and a highly regarded minyma pampa (senior woman), respected for her extensive knowledge of women's tjukurpa.
