First released in 2013, this minimalist bench draws inspiration from the iconic Jake Chair and showcases Koskela’s signature approach: simple, sustainable materials, designed with longevity in mind.
Built with a robust tubular steel frame, the Jake Bench is also available in a standard whitewashed plywood seat and an upholstered seat option added comfort and acoustic performance in high-traffic environments.
Perfect for dining tables, as an occasional bench or alongside a sofa, the Jake Bench is lightweight yet durable, with plastic dome feet as standard to protect floors. It’s not just made to last — it’s made to adapt and be repaired with the ability to re-powdercoat the frame or replace the seat or upholstery as needed.

Bench frame is powder-coated, circular tubular steel, and seat is black stained plywood. This bench is made in a Wollongong metal work factory, Sydney powder coat factory and New Zealand joinery factory

The Jake chair is a quintessential Koskela piece, combining contemporary design with a playful twist. It was originally launched in 2013 and remains one of our most popular pieces today. The design is inspired by old-school cafeteria chairs with a circular tubular steel frame that can be powder coated in a range of colours. The specified lead time applies to metro locations throughout Australia. Unfortunately, we can’t guarantee this lead-time for customers living in non-metro areas and Tasmania, Western Australia and the Northern Territory. For customers in these locations our customer service team will provide you with an accurate lead-time once you place an order.

We can only deliver above the ground floor if there is access to a lift, enough safe space access, or if the item weighs less than 75kg.
