About this product
Budbili Rug — Sustainable, Durable Classroom Rug Inspired by Nature and Culture
The Budbili Rug (pronounced bood-billy) takes its name from the Dharug Aboriginal word for “possum skin rug” — a respectful nod to traditional forms of warmth and gathering. Rest assured, no possum skins are used in the making of this product. At Koskela, we use First Nations language to name the Learn by Koskela collection, as part of our ongoing commitment to cultural respect and inclusion.
Designed for contemporary classrooms, libraries, and collaborative education spaces, Budbili brings visual warmth, acoustic softness, and biophilic benefits into learning environments.
Made using natural goat hair this carpet is sustainably sourced and naturally stain-resistant. The yarn blend includes a small percentage of regenerated fibres for enhanced durability and a corded construction that helps disguise soiling — ideal for high-traffic areas like classrooms.
The unique curved triangle shape draws inspiration from the Yakka Desk, encouraging a sense of spatial flow. Available in two colourways (solid or colour-inverted), Budbili can serve as both a soft gathering area and a visual focal point in the room.
In addition to its tactile appeal, the Budbili Rug contributes to better indoor air quality, energy savings, and sound absorption, supporting a calmer, more focused learning environment.

AfterCare™
Koskela products can be serviced to keep them looking like new and extend their life. Components are repairable or replaceable, so you can swap out a part rather than having to repurchase the whole. In most cases, this maintenance can happen onsite, reducing disruption and delays.
Continuously improving

Carbon Reduction
Koskela invests in the latest technology and innovative practices to reduce this product’s carbon footprint. Our organisation is committed to absolute zero, with no carbon offsets, by 2030. To keep us accountable we annually measure our carbon emissions and set goals for reduction.
Biophilic design
