Case Study: Co-working at Curtin University

Curtin University is expanding its Perth campus. Within one of the new buildings, they engaged Woods Bagot to design a co-working space that can be used by students and visitors.

Koskela worked closely with Woods Bagot to supply furniture in materials and finishes that fit Curtin University’s budget. Pieces were also chosen for their flexibility, enabling people to reconfigure setups for individual or group work.

Koskela supplied our customisable Quadrant Soft sofa, Quadrant Soft Curved sofa, Juha whiteboard, Disc table, Slim Series table on castors, Kaaria task chair, and Boab table. While the interior design has a corporate style, our terracotta powder coat adds a fun punch of colour.

Installed in August 2021, Koskela did our first maintenance visit in July 2022 as part of our aftercare service and the pieces still look new. When they do start to show signs of wear and tear it will be easy to make onsite repairs. The Quadrant Soft covers can be zipped off for dry-cleaning, and chipped powder-coat can be touched up with our paint kits. Regular maintenance ensures the products will last longer, and reduces waste going to landfill.
