About this product
Industrial walls paired with soft textural surface, it’s form inspired by the traditional Japanese art of Ikebana. The Kaiketsu vase plays with the boundaries of traditional vessels inviting experimental arrangements, allowing nature to be displayed in free form within its bended curves.A unique object for any contemporary home, creating beautiful centerpieces when paired with natural arrangements.
Hand crafted by Kate Brouwer in her Northcote studio. Each piece is made with care, time and thought. An ever growing collection of playful vessels, tableware and sculptural ceramics, with functionality at the forefront. Drawing inspiration from Asobimasu, a Japanese word meaning to play, “to create without boundaries”, Kate enjoys creating pieces that bend the boundaries of traditional forms and explore their relationship to the world around us.
Inspired by native bushland and landscapes, Kate seeks to find harmony between nature and form. Creating simple yet bold vessels that provide structure for nature to become the living artwork within its walls.
