About this product
Contemporary politics, pop culture and ancient and new knowledges have crafted 21st century conceptions of the body as situated, enculturated, connected and central to identity. As a food magazine we explore how this sensibility relates to production through to consumption
Features:
Eddy Diamond and Otis Burian Hodge on 'Yuin Cultural Fishing Rights'
Mathilde Cohen on 'Powdered Human Milk'
Shanna Whan and Kristen Allan in conversation 'on the joys of Sobriety'
Nick Jordan on 'What do Gods eat?
Rashna Farrukh on 'Do I still smell of curry?'
Food Diaries on 'Animals as food'
Counter Magazine peels back the tough, taboo and beautiful topics of food that you won’t have read about in your weekly cooking rag.
Taking the pulse of our times it bring sinto focus the stories behind food - from Australia to the globe, and from the land and sea to people and places in urban and rural locations.
The spirit of the magazine and their approach to food journalism is summarised by the word counter: as a verb it indicates a reaction to something that moves in an opposing direction, as a noun it is a platform where we serve, eat and enjoy food.
