The bread bag design is by Tim McNamara and the text is by Phyllis Stevens of Ewyenper Atwatye (Hidden Valley).
Tampe is Arrente language for damper
Tim says of his design “Tampe was made by native Aboriginal stockmans, we do tampe sometimes. Probably tomorrow when we go out bush.”
Ewyenper Atwatye (Hidden Valley) Town Camp Designs began in 2015, creating employment and income for more than 25 artists in Central Australia exploring creative mediums outside of painting. The artists play a role in all aspects of Ewyenper Atwaty, from designing, printing as well as packaging and sales.
Ewyenper Atwatye is administered by Tangentyere Artists; an Alice Springs-based Aboriginal-owned Art Centre providing arts training and workshops as well as marketing and sales support for the artists. Koskela is proud to work with Tangentyere Artists, a unique organisation that represents the breadth and depth of Central Australian cultural diversity.
